A slightly early post this week, as the normal post date coincides with me being enroute to San Francisco and JavaOne. Therefore, not as much news as usual - but I'm sure there will be plenty of Java desktop news in the next few weeks to make up for this. Enjoy :-)
Swing
- Google, having acquired Instantiations recently, have just released their tools....for free. Some of these tools are generic Java tools (of high quality), but most useful for readers of this blog is probably the WindowBuilder Pro GUI designer.
- Gerrit Grunwald has blogged about further work on his SteelSeries component library.
- Rhiannon Liebowitz has a tutorial on how to skin his (commercial) Swing Accordion control.
JavaFX
- Amy Fowler, a team mate in the JavaFX UI Controls team, has just published a list of the JavaOne talks she is more excited about.
- Similarly, Stephen Chin has posted a list of JavaOne sessions he is considering the 'JavaFX Expert RIA' track.
- Martin Ryzl and Irina Filippova have a tutorial up on using JavaFX graphic resources in JavaFX Composer.
- Marceli Narcyz let me know about a JavaFX Checkers applet he has built.
That's it for this (short) week. Like I said last week, I'll try to do a post whilst I'm overseas, but no guarantees :-)
