A quiet week this week, with no major news coming out in either the Swing or JavaFX camps. Still, there are a few interesting links this week, which I’ve included below. Enjoy 
Swing
- Kirill Grouchnikov has announced a number of new release candidates for his projects.
- Kathryn Huxtable has published the client properties for the new Sea Glass look and feel, which looks very nice.
- Jyloo Software published another article this week, this time on non-rectangular window decoration when using their Synthetica look and feel. They also announced that SyntheticaAddons 1.1.0 have been released.
JavaFX
- Geertjan Wielenga has posted about work the NetBeans platform developers are undertaking to make it possible to embed JavaFX inside NetBeans applications (i.e. built above the RCP).
- Sten Anderson has released the source code for a JavaFX family tree visualiser and a tag visualiser.
- Jim Weaver has updated the JavaFX RIA challenge by changing the deadline to be 30 days after the release of JavaFX 1.3.
- Patrick Champion has continued his series of posts on JPA 2.0 and JavaFX. I’m very, very pleased to see more focus is going on JavaFX breaking into the enterprise. The number of JavaOne proposals I reviewed in this area was staggering, which is, again, very, very pleasing.
- Antoine Mischler has a post talking about how to unit test your JavaFX application using JFrog and Maven. Within Oracle we just directly use JUnit for testing purposes, and that tends to work very well.

I think Antione’s test scenario also uses JUnit. JFrog seems to be a JavaFX compiler plugin and Maven is a build system.
A big plus of Maven over Ant is that it per default enforces all unittests to run correctly before allowing a artifact to be released. But Maven also has many drawbacks, so I understand if people stick to Ant. I’m stil “torn”.
